After spending $500 on my car this week the friggin door fell off yesterday. Thankfully it can be fixed I just don't know how much it's going to cost and with no job eeeerrrrrrr it might be off the road for a couple of weeks.
Just basically thought I'd come on here and have a whinge and hopefully you guys can cheer me up.

Ok let me think of the ways of cheering you up ................... it's raining here, and has been for a couple of days, warmish but still very wet............... it's the anniversary of Black Saturday (in my mind anyway coz it's Saturday) .................. my partner and a friend are out in the rain building a workshop .. stoopid ... we have a kitten that is just crazy and makes me laugh, maybe you should come over and get amused by her too !

I know this is a funny thing to say after the floods but I really wish it would rain just to cool it down a bit. So could you possibly send some of your rain down to us? Just for a week or so and then I'll send it back to you. lol
Is it a year since Black Saturday? That was terrible wasn't it, I thought at the time that Qld was lucky because we only get floods. I can handle a flood but not fire
I usually play with the kittens at Peninsula Animal Aid we have heaps of them at the moment. I have my own little menagerie of animals here. At the moment I have my faithful companion "Buddy" my special needs cat "Sam and I also have Smokey. He's a kitten from my beautiful cat Princess (she since passed away). I also have two foster cats they are mother and daughter.

Would you believe Belle, it's actually 2 years since those ridiculous temperatures and fires, now we are being flooded ! Well not us personally but there is water over the road everywhere and lots of suburbs of Melbourne have had their houses inundated overnight

Time flies doesn't it...Sorry, you seem to have gotten our rain problem in Vic. hopefully it'll settle down soon.
I thought I'd be safe to stay at home today but I'm still having dramas:-
Sam (my special needs cat) decided to sit on the office desk. He then proceeded to have a spac attack and knocked everything flying. The money box is now in a thousand pieces and facebook went all big on me. So I had to restart the computor and while all this was going on I had the tap in the kitchen on and of course I forgot about it and flooded the kitchen. Meanwhile the washing machine has gone on the blink...God I'd better go and kick it and see if I can get a bit more mileage out of it.

It's global warming with all these floods. Now we have to deal with cyclone Yasi and a lot of animals die mysteriously in the US, UK, NZ, and around Asia.
My laptop's system files crashed. It said Windows could not start and I need to install the CD-ROM. The problem is I don't know where the effing CD is and all my work and personal files are in the laptop. I hate myself for not backing up my files. I am now using my old laptop that's not suited for my work. I will need to be back at zero and start from scratch. You see Belle, I am also pissed out but when I feel that there are people in here willing to listen with all my vents, I know I will feel good in a few minutes.
Something like that happened to me and I took it back to the place that I bought it and they re-installed it for me for free. I got my computor from a shop that sells ex-government computors. I used to work for the government and I know they look after their computors that why I go there.
So if you could take it back to where you bought it surely they'd be able to help you. At least you have another lap top you can use which is a good thing. I wish I had another car I could drive. All I have is a kids scooter sitting outside. I might start using it, that'd be fun.

Thanks Belle. Yeah good thing I have another one but I can't use it to work. I will bring it to the office tomorrow for re installation. But I hope I can recover the files.

That also happened to my computer last year.. What they did is they restart it and all my files lost! I don't have any back ups for my files, actually they were just pictures..

I had to catch the bus to the shops....It was nice to be a passenger for a change. I'm still waiting for someone to ring me up about my car. One of my old work colleagues partner's is a mechanic and he knows a guy that can fix my car on the cheap. Stressed out about how much it's gonna cost. I'm going to take Buddy for a walk in the rain now.

Yeah, nowadays, we need to be extra careful to strangers. Unless they are well known car repair. But if they are, I bet they are expensive as well.
I think you should call your colleague so her husband can call the car repair. Or better yet, ask for the number of the car repair so you can take a look at it personally and ask for the quote. So you can be ready for the expenses.
It's $88 for a new (second hand) door and then $88 an hour for labour. So probably only about $200 which is bloody cheap and I'm stoked. I can't get it fixed till next week but not to worry.

I know how to drive but am not really good with cars so not sure if that's cheap already. But anyway, what is important is that your car will be fixed soon.

My new car door is going to be blue.....the colour of my car is silver. I'm not complaining just happy I'm getting a new door for my 21 year old car. I can always get it spray painted:) That is after I've finished getting everything else done to it.

Oh 21 years? W o w that's fantastic Belle! That car seems to be a big part of your life. :)
Well I'm spending a lot of money on it and hoping to give it to Natasha when she turns 16. So I am gradually getting everything fixed on it and now I have to get it spray painted....aaaahhhhhh Can't wait to find out how much that's gonna cost me.

Oh you'll gonna give it to Natasha? Oh you're such a sweet mom :)
Thanks Pretty Georgia. I thought it'd be a good "first" car to have and I'm hoping by that time I'll have a full time job and can afford to get a nicer car for myself.
I posted off my college application forms today I am hoping to do a Certificate lll in companion animal studies.
