I have recently stepped on the scales and realised that all that I lost, I have regained. I no longer fit in to half of my wardrobe and the other half looks yuk on me. So. I am back to lose again and this time for good. I have hidden behind too many excuses and now it is time to take charge of my actions and be honest with myself. I ordered 4 bottles of Acaislim today and eagerly await their arrival. Until they arrive I will follow a healthy eating plan and excercise more and I will stop using alcohol to cope with my grief. I am sure my Son would be happy with that. I am nearly 47 years old and have 5 children and 4.5 grandchildren. I currently weigh 79.8kg (as of Sat 19th March 2011) and I measure in at a height of 5' 3". My ultimate goal weight is 65 - 63kg. I can do it. I will do it.

Woke up this morning feeling very sore from yesterdays mammoth walk. Gotta keep at it though. My body has been depraived of exercise for too long. Will hop on the bike and ride around the block at least twice (approx 8km). Thankyou to all the positive support I am receiving. Every little bit helps

The exercise is very intimidating. I guess it is because I have gone at it full on instead of building up, but hey going the easy way hasn't helped in the past. I just got back from my afternoon ride. 8kms in half an hour. Not fast for many but I built up a sweat. Could've gone another once around the block but better not push it. I will go for another two laps around the block later today when it is cooler. I live in a very warm, humid part of Victoria, Australia. I didn't mention that I also did a one and a half hour bike ride with my two youngest kids on Sunday (day 2 of my "way to a new me" program). I am lucky that I live in an area that has many bike tracks taking in river and farm scenery. There is also alot of disused railway tracks removed and made into bike paths (otherwise known as rail trails). For those not familiar with these go to www.bikepaths.com.au/map/show/2 Once again a big thankyou to everyone for being so nice and encouraging. Now back to the real world and household chores

I'm lucky to make only 1 kilometer on my bike these days, I used to ride everywhere when i was a child but having a car is sooo much easier ! You've done well, don't overdo it though until you build up a bit, and your mind gets used to the "new you" program.

Cool. I gathered from the username you were an Aussie but then you spelt kilometre differently so I wasn't sure. You will have to get on the bike again. Healsville has plenty of riding opportunities. I bought my bike 11 years ago after a knee operation. I have ridden it so little that I still have the little knob things on the tyres that wear off after a while. I have found the bike riding very refreshing and much better on my knee than the walking. I will be careful not to overdo the exercising too much, but at the moment I am coping (just not used to it).

Oh aussie jo, I envy you in a positive way.. I can't do exercise that much.. Keep it up.. :)
Thankyou khloekobe. I don't mind exercise as long as it is not boring, competitive (like aerobic classes) and doesn't hurt too much. I wasn't able to go out yesterday. Got stuck in the home office all day. Was mentally exhausted by dinnertime so ate tea and went to bed early. I have been baking for the school fair today and working in home office so will be going for a ride after I bake my last batch of cookies. Haven't been picking at my cooking but inhaling the sweet smells sure makes me feel like I have. Luckily for me I don't have an addiction to sweets etc.. Well I'd better get cooking or my butt will never get on that bike seat

That is great Belle. I have had 8 ops on my right knee so walking isn't always a good option for me. I do it but not all the time. The cycling is definately better for me at this stage. just got to get some gel shorts. (my butt doesn't cope). I rode last night around the block twice (8km). My 11yo son came with me but gave up after one lap (couln't keep up with his dear old ma..lol).

I am really enjoying this forum. It actually makes weight loss enjoyable too. I look forward to popping on every now and again during the day and having a chat and reading comments. My son made me look good yesterday. I think it has to be my daughters bike. Mine has a flat tyre so I jumped on hers and it is so easy to ride and the gears help you go along easily but still build up your heartrate and sweat. I missed out on my bike ride today and boy did I miss it. I am hoping to get in at least 2 laps of the block tomorrow but I will see how the day pans out. I have to have me and the kids at the school fair in the morning and stay for my shifts on the stalls then our 4 sheep will be arriving sometime late morning early arvo. It will all depend on what time my ex-brother in law and his wife leave after delivering the sheep. Hopefully I will get some kms in and make up for no ride today. Still eating very sensibly and have kept the alcohol consumption down to nearly tea-totaler. Will have my first weigh-in tomorrow. Fingers crossed..

Hey there. Well I had my first weekly weigh-in yesterday morning. I am very proud to say I lost 3kgs. If I can do this without Acai Slim, imagine what I will achieve when I get my supply and yes guys I know the first week loss is always alot more than the future weeks but I am still very proud of myself. The sheep are sort of pets. They are Dorper Sheep which are a cross between sheep and goat. They are our lawn mowers and very cute lawn mowers they are indeed. We have 5 acres and it is hard work even on a ride-on. The plan is to service the ewes and utilise the off-spring for non-lawnmowing duties. Will have to see how we go. That takes our menagerie to 4 sheep, 4 chooks and 1 dog. :)

Congrats on the weight loss. Your so lucky to be able to have sheep...I am a huge animal lover but I only live in a small townhouse and I have a dog two cats and two foster cats. I work at an Animal Shelter in outer Brisbane it's called Peninsula Animal Aid. I am also about to begin study to get my cert lll in animal services.

Are those sheep the ones that don't need to be sheared? We have a goat but have 2 acres for him to eat and it gets a bit much between him and the lawnmower, we like sheep (or more to the point we prefer there droppings to that of a cow!) We know there are sheep that you don't have to shear but don't know anything else about them.

Hi Guys. Dorper sheep are a cross between a goat and a sheep and yes they shed their wool so you don't need to shear them. Ours have very distinct goat heads. They are sooooo cute. Hey Belle. You might have to move to the country. Then you can have your sheep and eat it too (well you can't have your cake can you... lol lol)

I love the taste of a good lamb roast or crispy bbq lamb chops but I don't think somehow I am going to be able to take our sheep from the paddock to the table. I won't tell hubby that though. He won't let me have more otherwise... lol On another note. Just got back from another ride. Finally increased my around-the-block ride to 3 laps (approx 12km). Lack of padding on the seat stopped me from making it 4 times. I am now off down the street to buy those damn gel pants. Better make a difference. My stamina will let me increase the around-the-block laps but my butt won't. Decreasing my butt size won't even help even though I plan to do just that over the next few months. My daughter is a bean pole and the bike seat kills her butt too.

I thought you were talking about riding your sheep there for a second. Gel pants sound like a good idea. Good on you for riding your bike, I sold mine years ago. I'm still addicted to walking.
I should really do some different sorts of exercise now that I'm sooooo fit.

Well I am back from down the street and without any gel shorts. $120 a pop and how long will they last? I don't plan on being this size forever. Ah well I guess I will just have to grin and bear the sore butt.

Belle you are so funny. My sheep are too little to ride, might be a tad more comfortable than the bike though. Hmmmm hold that thought. I could collect their wool as they disgard it and make my own super bone jarring absorbent pants. God listen to me. I'm talking like a crazy woman. probably cause I am

This is so true
If you can start the day without caffeine, If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it, If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time, If you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without alcohol, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, Then you are probably The Family Dog

I work at an animal shelter and I work with the dogs and I have successfully rehabilitated two dogs and am working on a third dog. His name is Fraser and he is a very handsome Bull Arab cross...I am getting all teary thinking about him. I can't understand why the dogs end up at the Shelter but I'm just glad I can be there and hopefully make their stay at the Shelter a bit more pleasant.
