At least you're losing weight. Have a look at my progress from when I first started in September. I never had any great losses just stayed determined and focused and never gave up.

hi ladies, well im slowly getting back on track after a horrible past 5 days i seem to have put a kilo on but thats my fault.
hope you're all doing well. I think DanaG you shoul dbe happy with a kilo a week thats healthier then 2 or more a week they say the slower you lose it the more you keep it off thats not to say those losing fast will gain their weight back please dont think im implying you wont merely point out that a kilo is great!

I have that issue too Elle, other than doing stuff at Gym which I'm not (I'm allergic to gyms) I can't think of much to get rid of that I'm hoping that it will fall off (not down) as I lose weight.

@ elle: kickboxing, swimming, yoga, pilates and back exercises are excellent ways to burn calories and tone your back.

back exercises i found in the internet:

Opposite arm and leg lifts: Lie flat on the floor, forehead touching straight down or to the side. Slowly lift your right arm and left leg, keeping your pelvis and chest on the floor, but stop if you feel pain. Hold for a few seconds, lower, and repeat with your left arm and right leg. Try for five reps on each side to start, then work up to more reps (in three sets) as you get comfortable with the movements.

Rear Delt Fly: Sit on the edge of a chair, holding 2-3 pound weights in your hands. Bend forward from the hips, tuck your chin into your chest and make your back flat. Starting with your hands at your calves, slowly bring them up alongside your body, bending your elbows until your shoulder blades squeeze together. Pause, then slowly lower your arms. Go for about ten reps to start (working up to three sets), and if you're not feeling the burn by then...try heavier weights.

Back Extension: Lie on the floor with your hands at your sides (palms down), drawing in your abdomen to your spine. Slowly raise your head and chest; continue looking down, but keep the top of your head tensed as if it is reaching forward. Now lift your hands, flipping your palms so that your thumbs are pointed out. Reach behind you. Your goal is to work toward four reps, holding for twenty seconds.

Hi sorry its been while things havent been so good here....
yeah im a single mother my x and i were engaged but i didn't work out im still going to lose this weight though :) I have a 3yr old boy would love another but well that option left with the rotton x *sigh* anyway thanks for the advice on the back fat lol kind of embarrassing to have to ask that but I'm desperate for it to go lol. I must confess ladies I have slipped majorly well the meds im on have caused weight gain again damn cortizon but if i want to be able to move i have to have it so im back to square one. I'm also having surgery soon so i want to have lost a good 10kg before that and i guess i need to having been told to :( so im gonna try my hardest to keep coming on here and getting that in progress and a few other things too. I'm actually going for my license soon (something i hve put off for along time due to fear) but i figure its time to stop being afraid and start living!
I'm going to be good this weekend no chocolate for me!
hope you're all well. Glad ur son is on the mend danaG

It's not that hard to stick to if you turn it into a "lifestyle change". I had been struggling for a couple of weeks but I had a lot of stress happening in my life that needed to be sorted out. But I just know that I'm a lot happier thinner and there is no way I want to get fat again so I was determined to get back on track.

Yes I suppose your right I actually though I may have been pregnant so stopped the tablets and the cortizone too but the weight just piled on, I'm not pregnant though soI"m now starting back on everything, damn hormones!
Would have been nice but also would have hindered surgery and my weight loss but still would have been nice.
I think the more i focus on doing it all in one the more i find it challenging so im going to start with just exercising then once im in rythum with that again ill focus onchanging diet saved running mysel finto a stress head well bigger one. I also find not working extreemely bad for me as I tend to just veg out some days instead of kicking myself into gear soomething im really owrking on :) I know i can do it as u have all done it and are doing it is a matter of blocking everything else out and just focusing on that.

i definitely agree with belle, dinkidi and danag. this forum certainly got a team and a family in one.

@ elle: as belle said in the other thread, you should choose an exercise that you think you would enjoy doing, so you won't get bored in the long run. i now find biking a hobby and a form of exercise.

Hey ladies,
read up on you all and hoping everyone is okay and that your kids are healthy and well now *hugs* I know how it feels to have your little one sick its heart breaking!
to the newbies welcome ~ sorry i haven't been on for a while i got my license FINALLY and have been enjoying the challenges of solo driving and dealing with terrible 2's thanks to my lovely son *oh the joys* lol worth it though! and being able to get more done however the down side is as everyone told me you do get lazy with walking but im doing okay weight wise as a stand still for a few weeks now. Seems I did gain over mothers day weekend knew i would how could i not try things that were made for me! But again every week is a new week, every day a new day and a day to do better then the day before!

Does anyone know if you can take energise tablets with acai berry?
Feeling fatigued all he time, going to make myself walk more on the treadmil see if that will help, my diets pretty good dont eat a lot of sweets anymore (which is HUGE for me) and hardly have bread, pasta and rice now I just have to cut sugar from coffee and teas.

But like i said im getting there will put my next weight in measurments up and weight *gulp*

oh quick question: if your scales say one thing and the doctor sand dietitians say another whos should you go by?

Thanks Belle I used mine and I was 66kg (thats fine ive got fluid retention atm) but the dietitians was 74kg I was   crying.gif when I got to the car especially since I know I have cut out a lot of things and not eaten junk ect for a few weeks and like no way could i have gained 8kg but it was depressing to think I had. I think I'll go by mine. But it was an insentive to get back into gear even more!

I was in hospital for a week so didn't eat for a week could that also have something to do with it? I couldn't move due to chest infection/ inflammed sternen it was quite painful so i was on a few pain killers!

Could not eating for a week be why im so bloated now?

You really should start a progress page and record your weekly losses. I have been on doing this since Sept last year and have had a few ups and downs but I find coming on here every week and recording my weight has helped me a lot.

I do record my weight in a diary at home I try not to record what i eat for fear of going backwards into anai try to eat as healthy as i caqn and not over do the extercise im also starting mass attack soon (next pay) to help with the pcos im hoping her diet program can help me too whilst taking acai.

I try not to get too upset bythe scales for my own mental health as im terrified of going back to old habits but know it probably wouldn't happen anyway but its a fine line i just dont want to cross. Id rather be curvy then stick!

I think it's great that you all record your weight and measurments on here im glad it helps you, please dont feel im being rude or anything but i have to be careful becaus eof my past history with anorexia ( funny how different things turned out now) but becaus ei still have that part of me i dont want to trigger it by being too number focussed. Its really hard too, if i focus on my diet and exercise and weight too much i get that oh to familar feeling that i used to feel and it makes me panic, i dont want to go backwards! But i dont want to be over weight anymore. I want to be a healthy curvy chick, who can what do they call it shake my booty?! lol

Hi Elle,

I too would use your own scales and not get too depressed by others, they need to weigh you and record it, but unless you use their scales on a weekly basis, use your own that way you'll know that you are going down and you will also go down on their scales even though they say something different.

Maybe you are low in Iron that might be why you are not very energetic, just a thought, it takes months to get your iron levels back up, it might be worth a look into, especially as you haven't been well.

Hi Elle, Welcome Back Love. Congratulations of getting your drivers license. Can I say I am not sure what energy stuff you can take with A/S but I use Berocca and it helps with exercising. As Belle and Dinkidi have suggested is to use your own scales. I think thats a great idea as its more trusting. How much do you weigh love?

I have  been anaemic in the past and my Good Dr always tells me to eat red meat. I hate eating meat but I have been eating lamb lately because apparently it's good for me. I don't eat a lot of it though just when I'm lethargic.
