Hi all! Just ordered my first months supply and am waiting it's delivery. I hope it works as well as what i have beenr eading from you all.
I need to lose weight, and regularly. I had spinal surgery for a injury i sustained in June last year, and have gained weight from both inactivity and the medications i was on. Doing anything more than walking presently is very difficult and even that is difficult due to me having a complication during my surgery causing me to have nerve damage and foot drop. (very difficult to walk)
I also just hired a treadmill so that i can try and walk on a level surface without risk of tripping and falling as i drag my foot and have little control over it. That arrives tomorrow.
Any suggestions that any of you think i may benefit from? I'd love to hear what you all have to say and share
@ kat: welcome to the boards. here are my tips for you: drink more water, eat healthy diet and exercise regularly. drink your acai slim (as for short) twice a day. one before brekkie and one before dinner. did you order for the colon cleanse (cc for short) as well? if so, you can also take them twice a day. one before brekkie and one before dinner. maximum for as is 4. but you should try doing 2 first since there are some who lose weight with this serve.
Thanks for the warm welcome and wishes for my journey!
No marga, i didn't order any colon cleanse as i just ordered my first bottle of a months supply to see how it works for me. Then, if i am happy, i will certainly order more and possibly the other at that time. Will start with the 2 a day (brekkie and dinner times), will certainly drink pleanty of water (fibre absorbs water) and is good for flushing, make better food choices and will use my treadmill as often and as best i can (That is my intention).
Gosh one day i hope to be just as successful as you all have been!!!
Awe gee thanks everybody, you are all so kind. Can't wait to get started and join the ranks of all of you!! I promise to myself that i will use this treadmill as much as this silly right foot and spine will allow (s well as do my hydrotherapy and physiotherapy). I am thinking of getting some really ligh hand weights for my upper arms and back/shoulders. Anyine have any upper body/arm exercises they'd like to share that has worked for them?
DanaG, i didn't know it was necessary for me to purchase that colon cleanser as i had read the blurb on the acaislim web site as it was recommended if you wanted rapid/maximum weight loss. It had kinda made it sound like it was optional. I didn't order it as i am already on something for my bowels (sharing such things already and i hardly know you gals LOL) and did NOT want to have issues/double up.
Is there a breakdown of what it contains however, as i did read somewhere on here that it contained a herb that i am not allowed to take? Many thanks in advance.
it makes it easier if you can start your new eating and exercising habits now before you get the tablets, they then will work better because you are already in that frame of mind.
No time like the present !

Ha, should i correct myself and say, not to eat anything nawdy even when these lil babies arrive....the only exercise i will be able to manage is short walks on this treadmill (and hydrotherapy) so i hope that is enough.
Does anybody here know all the ingredients in that colon cleanse please?
Gee much thanks dinkidi! Sorry to have made you squink to read the tiny tiny print. Will have to check any contraindications as i think it is the St John's Wart i can't take with this epilepsy medication. You've been very good to me; thank you!
@kat: I think a short walk on a treadmill is enough. Just make sure you'll sweat. Have you tried to ask your doctor if it is ok to take a/s and c/c while you're on medication?
Hi khloekobe and with my physical limitations from my spinal surgeries and my complication also affecting my leg and foot, that is about the best i can presently do, and LOL i do sweat. I can't walk fast paced because of the damage to my foot and i have to be careful as i trip over it. (my brain thinks i have lifted it high enough and out of the way, but i haven't) I will do the best i can, and this is a promise to myself as well. I can't see why i can't take the a/s but i don' think i can take the other whilst i am on Lyrica. I was put on this epileptic drug to assist with the neuropathic pain into leg and foot, but one of the side effects is weight gain. It's the only one that really helps darn it. I am due to see my neurosurgeon mid June so unless i have to go to my G.P before then, i'll ask him.
Oh sad to hear about all your surgeries and medication.. I hope everything will turn out fine soon.. It would be best if you consult your doctor first before taking the pills. It's better to avoid any drug interactions.. :) Keep us posted.. :)
You know, it is just so cool to have you girls with the experience behind you, to offer hope, help and suggestions to newbies like me. You all are very inspirational and i thank you!
I purchased digital scales yesterday and weighed myself on them last night. I am mortified at what these ones weigh me at. 98.1 kilos.
<sigh> Guess that'll be my start weight then folks....(where is the crying icon?) Ought i measure my bits and pieces as well?
@kat: That's what I love in this forum, supportive and friendly people.. What is your weight goal? Don't worry, A/S will help you lose weight, just think positive and of course you have to help yourself, too.. Have a healthy diet and exercise.. :)
Kat, just keep coming back hon and we will walk this journey with you. All of us are in the same boat. I am sure that all the hard work that you put in Kat will be a great reward in the end. I was 87.8 kg and now 80.6 kg. You can do it Kat and we can help u.
@ kat: you should also weigh before you start the products. who knows, you may lose more weight while waiting for your lil babies to arrive. that would then be your starting weight.
I haven't yet received/started taking these lil babies, so i guess my pre-product weight is 98.1 kilos.
Reduced fat milk now in the house, and eating salad, smaller amounts and no snacking between meals (save for some fruit) has now become my mantra. I just hope this nil metabolism body of mine from past and present medications, will cooperate.
My weight goal would have to be getting down to like 70 kilos (from my current 98.1), but it just seems so very far away and almost unrealistic of me. I was able however, to walk on this treadmill for like 10 minutes without falling and without being in a massive amount of spinal pain at a pace of 2 klm per hour which is up from my earlier 5 minutes at 1.5 klm per hour. It doesn't sound very athletic but if you knew me and and my limitations presently, you'd understand just how fab that was.
Is there any othe member here that also has any limitations physically? I'd be interested to see how they've been getting on...Of course, crisis in the home also puts a great strain on making an effort on ourselves as well.
Again, how really wonderful you all have been to a total stranger, and i am encouraged by your weight loss DanaG (and others) to continue what i have started. Lets see if i too can be just as clever as you all have been!
Kat, it doesn't matter what the scales tell you as long as it's consistent, make sure the scales are used in the same place each time and you will get regular readings, also yes, measure your bust, waist, hips in particular but some have also measured their thigh and arms, that's up to you, but I saw a loss in cm's before any weight
