Rest time after exercise
Permalink

i have a question to all of you, hoping you can share some of your expertise with me. my daily activity is:
wake up at around 6am
change clothes and get ready for exercise
drink my first AS and CC pills with a glass of water
exercise for 30 minutes
eat my breakfast
take a rest for 15-30 minutes

take a bath and get ready for work.

do you think my daily routine is fine?
after you exercise, how many minutes do you rest before taking a shower?
also, do you take a bath with warm water or normal water temp?

I rest for as long as it takes me to recuperate! I walk usually mid morning or after lunch, depending when it is I get back from my walk and have a coffee while I get my breath back and let the sweat disappear!

I found when I was younger I used to do a workout and be buzzing afterward and would be walking around like a maniac for two hours afterwards. But now that I'm older it's a bit different...I did about 90 minutes today and I think I rested for a bout half an hour afterwards.

So I think as you get older you need to have a rest after exercises and I think a 15 minute rest would be adequate.

Hope that helps:)

I also take a rest after I exercise.  Mainly because, I need to catch up my breath. biggrin Anyway, I think a 15-minute rest is just fine.  It's enough to get to your normal breathing and dry up yourself from sweat.  I suggest you rest your feet too, okay.  I don't think it's healthy to take a bath with your tired feet. smile

What exercise are you doing sweetie? It's good that you still have time for exercise before going to work.  That's determination! smile

i certainly need to rest after exercising.  but it's important that you do a cool down exercise before resting completely.

hi summer! i exercise using the treadmill, hoola hoops and twist board. but mostly treadmill takes up all my time. i just use hoola hoops and twist board to spice up my daily exercise routine. my daily routine would be 5 minutes for warm up/stretching, then 30 minutes for treadmill and hoola hoops/twist board.

yes, no matter how busy we are, we should spend time to exercise. it's a good way to get the blood pumping and your metabolism going. it has also been studied that people who exercise regularly tend to be more jolly, have positive attitude, active at work or school, and alert. personally, i find that true because when i was not on regular exercise, i find myself sleepy comes 2PM at work. but now that i have an active lifestyle, i can think well and don't feel so pressured/stressed.

Makes sense, Natalie.  I certainly feel more sluggish when I don't get to exercise regularly.

I think I would have to agree.  If I don't move a lot in the house, I feel lazier. LoL.  But once I started the day with some house work, then I can keep myself going even until the end of the day.  Yes, your theory make sense. biggrin  Will try to do hoolas more often too.  But I can't even stand on it for 2 minutes. Am a loser. Hahaha

I think 15 minutes rest is fine or when you get your breath back. I do that when I'm done with exhausting work like cleaning up around the house.
