Hey everyone. Thanks for checking up on me!
Sadly this week I put on 1kg. I am weighing in at 118.6kg. I am not disheartened though, actually I am more determined than ever. The first 5.5kg came off so quickly and without me doing any exercise so I was prepared to stall. I am now realistic that the only way I can lose this weight for good is by being regularly active and exercising my butt off (combined with good nutrition and acai slim of course). For the past 3 days I have been going on long walks (4km/5km) and today I've started a program called "From Couch To 5km" which should see me being able to run 5km without stopping in 9 weeks time. It's a huge dream of mine to just be able to go for a run and not want to stop and walk every 30secs! My plan is to alternate and do my 5km walk one day and then the jogging program the other day (takes about 30mins). I am loving that my urge to exercise is coming naturally! I haven't felt like this in a long time.
Hopefully I will see some weight loss this week, however my #1 goal now is to keep up my regular exercise and keep a healthy diet. I don't want fluctuations in water weight etc to dishearten me. I was literally checking the scale every day before. Now I want to just check it once a week and focus on doing as much exercise as possible during the week.
I appreciate you checking up on me, I was planning to sneak away until I had another loss to announce, however it's great to be held accountable lol! I hope you all had fantastic weeks and I will have better results to announce soon!

It is something you will learn by yourself, you can't be told, that we are going to have to always think about what goes in our mouth compared to what we expend (in exercise or-physical activity), you have worked that out already so you have just made a huge learning curve, well done! Putting on weight is not so bad, most of us, me especially, take a few backward steps, but youneed to learn along the way, for a life change, not a diet, you need to learn what your body needs or doesn't need. We are here to keep you on track, that's why I, Belle, and others that have come and gone, have lasted and reached, or are about to, reach our goals. Keep going, and be honest, to you, it's about being truthful to you, we care, but at the end of the day it's you that you cheat if you are not honest on this forum. You're doing great, don't dwell on the setbacks, move forward!

Thanks Dinkidi! You're lovely!

Yes, Belle I'm still following the 4 Hour Body slow carb diet. There are ALOT of different ideas in the book and I do some but not all of them. One of their biggest rules is to eat 30grams of protein within 30mins of waking up and i NEVER do this. I feel like I can't stomach anything that early in the morning. But I know this is something I need to try harder to do as apparently it makes a big difference with weight loss.

I'm really not discouraged about the weight-gain this week. I was for a couple of days and then I just got even more motivated to work hard! Even contestants on The Biggest Loser occasionally gain weight/stay the same weight some weeks and they exercise hard 5+ hours a day and are on a strict caloric intake. The body responds differently at different times. As long as I am getting smaller and smaller, and fitter and fitter every month then I'm happy :)

That's good that you're sticking to that diet it sounds pretty good to me.

I was watching the Biggest Loser last night and they now have spy cam.

That really large guy was eating packet after packet of turkey...and Shannon was going "I wondered why he wasn't losing the weight that he should be losing" and margie was eating a sneaky cheese sandwhich.

Anyway you just carry on doing what your doing and I'm sure you'll lose the weight . We're always here to help if you get stucksmile

That's right!  Don't get discouraged, instead, be even more motivated.  With that attitude, you'll soon be losing weight again.smile

The more protein you have as breakfast the better your metabolism kicks in for the day, just a hint for you!

So should I be eating a whole chicken for breakfast with a leg of lamb thrown in for good measure ?

Hi everyone!

So I fell off the bandwagon for about a week (I was eating bread, dairy, etc etc). It's not like I was eating really unhealthy food but for me to lose weight I need to be really strict on my diet and I wasn't for that week (Week 6). However this week I've been back on track and lost all the weight I gained last week plus 700 grams! I'm really happy and am feeling back on track. I knew in the beginning that this journey would have its highs and lows and my biggest goal was to always get back on track if I became unfocused before I undid all my good work which I have done now so I'm happy :) Although my weight loss has not been as consistent as I would like I am still so happy that I have lost 7.5kgs in 7 weeks and I'm really excited for next week's result :)

Starting weight: 124.1kg
Week 1 weight: 120.1kg (4kg loss)
Week 2 weight: 119.2kg (0.9kg loss)
Week 3 weight: 117.6kg (1.6kg loss)
Week 4 weight: 118.6kg (1kg gain)
Week 5 weight: 117.2kg (1.4kg loss)
Week 6 weight: 118.5kg (1.3kg gain)
Week 7 weight: 116.5 kg (2kg loss)

Total weight loss: 7.5 kgs

I hope you're all losing tonnes of weight and are having a great time!

Well done on your weight loss but especially for getting back on track and coming in and admitting it to us. This forum is good for keeping us focussed and accountable, it means we will get to our goals and be congratulated when you do well and get picked back up with encouragement in the weeks we don't do well.

It's because I'm a loser and nothing ever goes right for me in life. I am about to give up.

I just took my measurements that I last took 6 weeks ago and I am thrilled to say I have lost 7cm off my waist, 5cm off my hips, 4cm off my thighs, and 8cm off my chest! :D

My Week 8 weigh-in is on Sunday and I can't wait! I hope you've had fantastic weeks and thank you so much for your encouragement!

See! Told you, measurements sometimes mean more than weight. They both go hand in hand. Well done, great losses.

Thanks Dinkidi! I'm very happy :)
Bad news is though that my digital scales have stopped working, I've ordered some more online and expected delivery is Wed-Fri next week, so I guess I will have to skip Week 8 weigh-in and make it Week 9 next week!

Remember that new scales could weigh differently to your old ones, so don't be too disappointed or excited when you first weigh on them.

I had to put new batteries in my digital scales and I weighed a whopping 8 kilos more. It was very upsetting at the time but I just kept plodding along and the weight has been slowly coming off.

Yeah I know, I will just pretend that I am starting my weight loss journey all over again so that I'm not affected by the different reading on the different scales.
Wow, Belle. Why was it 8kg more?

I'm sorry, I thought you meant the scale weighed you 8kg more than your other scale did, I didn't realise you meant you gained the weight. Everyone in this forum, myself included, has gained unwanted weight at some point in their life. It doesn't make us losers. The fact that we are consciously trying to improve ourselves now means we are fighters. Never give up, Belle. Our health is something worth fighting for for the rest of our lives :)

It was the scales NewMe, the battery went flat and for some reason the scales weighed 8kg different with the new battery.

Sorry I'm having a really rough time at the moment with my teenage daughter and it's mainly about money (I don't have enough) and I've been really upset on and off all week.  I usually work at an animal shelter (as a volunteer) on Saturdays but I can't stop crying so I won't be going today. You have to be in the right frame of mind to work there and I'm not.

Thanks Dinkidi! It is going to take a long time to get to my goal weight but I am loving that I'm heading in the right direction. My 1st goal weight is 75kg. I got excited today when I realised I've already achieved 18.5% of that goal (sounds better than saying I've got 40kg left to go lol!). If I lose an average of 1kg a week I will reach my goal by the end of the year, hopefully sooner!
