Great comeback, newme! Attending parties is part of our lives and the important thing is that your mind is set to do what's needed to get right back on track.
Hey everyone! So I wasn't great this week but I also wasn't bad. According to my very unreliable scales I am 112.1kg which is a 200gram loss. I am honestly happy with that considering what happened to me 2 weeks ago. However, my scales are becoming increasingly unreliable (this morning they read 112.1kg twice, then 123.4kg (!!!), then 115.0, then 112.1kg, then 113.8kg. Ridiculous, hey!?). So I'm not going to use them anymore because they are messing with my head. I am going to use my parents' scales now which weigh me in significantly more (116.9kg - a 4.8kg difference). They are old and we have always known they weigh you in more but at least they read the same number and can accurately measure my weight loss (even if they make me feel 5kgs heavier than I need to be lol).
So to be fair to myself and not feel like crap that I've "put on weight" according to my new scale.. I am going to start fresh! I lost 12 kgs in the first 12 weeks of the year, and now I am on a mission to lose 20kg in the next 13 weeks (by July 1 - my birthday!). I know it seems like a lot but if I look at my weight loss so far - if I just didn't have those weeks where I gained weight that set me backwards I probably could have done it.
So from next week I will be recording it as Week 1 weight: 116.9kg and next week's weight as Week 2 result. Hope this doesn't confuse anyone! I just need to do it to keep me motivated :) Hope you are all doing really well!
That sounds like a good idea, there is no point perservering if your scales come up with such a wide range of weights, you need consistency, and as long as you use the same scales you can get accurate results, it doesn't matter if they weigh you in heavier, at least you'll know how your going.
Good luck for next week.

My scales do the exact same thing...so I've learnt not to do that. You just have to weigh once a week at the same time and take that number as your weight for the week.
But if you think you'll have more success on your parents scale then go for it.

I have to weigh-in a day early as I am going away for the long weekend and won't get a chance to do it tomorrow morning.
Very excited to say that I have lost 2.9kg this week! I've really been controlling my portion sizes and spreading my meals out throughout the day pretty well this week and it seems to be working! Another dreaded (just kidding) party weekend this weekend! Lol so will have to work my butt off next week to make up for it.
Round 1 Finished - 12kgs lost in 12 weeks
Round 2 Starting Weight: 116.9kg Round 2 Goal: To lose 20kg in 13 weeks! Week 1 Weight: 114.0kg (2.9kg lost)
Great work, you can have parties and enjoy stuff like that, you just need to know when to stop or if there is a choice take the slightly healthier one!

I've actually been really crappy but am getting back on track today. For the past month I've been going thru a relationship breakdown with my partner and not focusing on my health at all. We ended things officially yesterday so now I really need to jump into living life for me and most importantly lose this weight!!
I'm scared to check the scales because I know I will have gained a lot of weight but all I can do is move forward again... I will probably weigh myself on Monday to get things started again.
I'm not going to dwell on this, it's but another hurdle to jump over! Hope you have been doing well and I'm looking forward to going in a positive direction again :)
I know everything will be fine Newme. This is just another trial that you need to surpass for you and your family. I am looking forward for your updates. Good luck
